Instructions

  1. Cut the butter into small cubes and leave it at room temperature for about 10 minutes to soften slightly.
  2. Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl, add the salt, and stir well.
  3. Add the softened butter and rub it into the flour with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine crumbs.
  4. Gradually pour in the cold water and mix just until the dough comes together.
  5. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap or cover it with a clean damp kitchen towel, and refrigerate for 40–60 minutes before using.
